The Come Wright Inn: Where tech bros don't run the show
deep sigh
I just stumbled across something that made me roll my eyes so hard I thought they'd never come back down.
OpenAI is rumored to be building their own social network where people can share their AI-generated content.
Y'know, because what the world definitely needs is another place for us to scroll mindlessly while questioning our life choices.
Tech bros have such brilliant ideas, don't they? Said no one ever.
But wait, it gets better. Fakebook is also working on AI avatars for "enhancing social media engagement."
One moment please, while grab my soapbox.
Fakebook most days is the internet equivalent of a Walmart parking lot at 3 AM – bizarre, a bit threatening, and you're not entirely sure why you're there. Meanwhile, the couple in the next car wants to involve you in their argument about lizard people in politics.
We found a Fakebook at the Inn once. We destroyed that damned thing immediately.
So instead of stopping to wonder why people are finding better places to hang out, they decide... programmed robot profiles talking to each other are a better choice?
I guess that's one way to create the engagement you crave.
What I can say is that I'm not a fan.
The thing is, I've been working with AI and chatbots for years now, and I love the technology.
But there's a massive difference between using AI as a tool to enhance human connection versus using it to replace human connection entirely.
It's like the difference between using a blender to make a cocktail and trying to have a meaningful conversation WITH the blender. (Though admittedly, the blender might have better conversational skills than some people I've dated.)
Narrator: I have no words for this image.
Is anyone actually seeing the real us behind our carefully curated feeds?
That's why I created the Come Wright Inn - a digital tavern where weary travelers can kick back, share stories, and have actual adventures together.
A place where humans meet humans and discover hidden rooms. We collect Easter eggs and form real connections that aren't filtered through an algorithm.
In a world increasingly filled with AI-generated everything, finding your real tribe matters more than ever.
The Come Wright Inn isn't just another online space – it's an adventure we're creating together, with actual humans who care about making meaningful connections.
So instead of sliding into an AI's DMs this week, why not pull up a chair at the Come Wright Inn? The welcome mat is out and the adventure is waiting.
I'll be tending bar tomorrow afternoon, so stop by. If you're not careful, I'll serve you a virtual beverage. All it's going to cost you is a story.
